I'm sure most of us have coupons for the PowerBar pure and simple energy bars; they were found in most convience stores awhile ago. I never thought I was going to get these for less than .50¢ each (even with the coupon being doubled). Well this is why I say never leave home without your coupns....while out one afternoon getting fuel at a local convience store I came across these for 3/$2.00!! I was soooo excited because this meant I was going to get 3 for .50¢..........again "Never leave home without your coupons"

Recycle your old Hasbro games; most of us probably have an Operation game that is missing a funny bone or rib bone! And if this is the case you don't have to continue to play with that missing piece, you can request a pre-paid shipping label from recycle bank and they will replace it. Hello all! This has been a great day of couponing. Remember I told you all about the $1.00 cereal at CVS on W. Tennessee St. I just got back from purchasing 15 boxes for FREEEEE! This is what I got...6 boxes of cinnamon toast crunch; 5 boxes of special K; 2 boxes of kelloggs crunch (I think that's the name) and 2 boxes of raisin bran. The coupons that I used were 6- $1.00/1 cinnamon toast crunch cpns and 3- $3.00/3 kelloggs cpns. The children at the church will love these tomorrow.

My daughter received a text from Target regarding new coupons that were sent directly to her phone; and one was for viskos (sp) yogurt and guess what; there was a demonstrator at Wal Mart sampling and handing out coupons! THe coupons were to save $1.00/2 and the Target Mobile coupon is to save $1.00/2 so this means what FREEEEEEEE! (the coupon from the demonstrator is a manufacturer coupon).

I got ALL this for FREE; paid $1.20 in tax!!!!
This is how it went down: I used a $5.00/$20.00 Dollar General coupon and 4 of the $4.00 airwick coupons. I got the can of air freshener because I knew I would be a $1.00 negative if I didn't.

I almost missed out on this deal; because it expired yesterday but I was able to do it twice....all you had to do was buy 3 gillette,crest, always, tampax or pantene products (excluding trial/travel size items) and get a $5.00 gift card.And to make this deal even sweeter; we had P & G coupons and the publix store coupons that came in the mail; so I only paid each .89¢ for each one!

Walgreen's Dove Deal

This week Walgreen's is offering a $5.00 RR (register reward) when you buy 4 participating dove products. I got this senario from Passion for Savings; this is the breakdown she gave and it worked like a charm...

1) you need to retrieve the the unilever coupons from the 7/31 Redplum that are to buy a shanpoo or conditioner and get a treatment FREE. you will need 2 of these.

2) because the items are ringing up 3 @ $4.49 and the 3rd one $1.53 you need to make sure you have you items rang up in the following order.

3) make sure the treatments are two of the first items that are rung up. The reason you want to do this is because of the price adjustment of the last item to make the total $15.00. You don't want it to be one of the treatments and only get credit for $1.53 and it should have been $4.49.

4) the reason this is so important is because once the cashier looks at the register tape to retrieve the price to deduct she is going to look at the top of the receipt.

5) Once the coupons are deducted you will pay $7.15 OOP and receive a RR for $5.00; so in turn you only paid $2. 15 for four hair care products.

All these items were 90% off; total was $12.90 (.90¢ tax) for 7 chairs.....one chair was $15.00 reqular price. Recently while on vacation in Panama City hubby wanted to buy 2 of these and of course being the bargain hunter that I am; I said no we would get one and I would be on the lookout for a major deal; and man did I come across a major deal..........he just needs to be more patient! While out on my daily coupon hunt I came across these great Publix coupons; and on top of that there were manufacturer coupons attached to the Healthy Choice and Marie callender Fresh Mixers for $1.00/1. They were $2.99 and I was able to use the store and manufacturer coupon and get them for .99¢. Then it gets even better; there is an offer for a $10.00 publix or amazon gift card when you bought $30.00.....and I did. So I paid 12.24 oop but will get back $10.00............love it!

When looking to find a great price by shopping yard sales or searching online, be careful not to end up with a recalled item that is a safety hazard to you or your children. Don Mays, our product safety director, points out the following types of products to avoid buying used, because of their potential safety hazards.

Do not buy used:

1. Cribs
Over the past several years, our marketplace has been flooded with poor-quality, mostly foreign-made, cribs that were a serious safety hazard to young children—particularly drop-side cribs. More than 11 million dangerous cribs were recalled between 2007 and 2010, according to the Consumer Protection Safety Commission. Drop-side cribs with detaching side rails were associated with at least 32 infant suffocation and strangulation deaths between 2000 and 2010. Additional deaths have occurred due to faulty or defective crib hardware. But new crib safety standards went into effect in June, and will stop the manufacture and sale of traditional drop-side cribs. In addition, the standards require stronger mattress supports, more durable hardware and rigorous safety testing. However, many older cribs can still be found for sale anywhere from flea markets to online auction sites.

2. Bicycle Helmets
Helmets deteriorate over time, as ozone and sunlight degrades the plastic. But most importantly, once a bicycle helmet is involved in a crash it will no longer offer the same level of protection as before. You have no way of knowing if a helmet was previously involved in a crash, so skip buying used bicycle helmets. If it comes down to saving money, know that you don't have to buy the most expensive helmet to be assured of its safety, cheap helmets offer the same protection.

3. Child Safety Seats
Like bicycle helmets, you have no way of knowing whether a used car seat was involved in a car crash. Child safety seats that have gone through a crash will not offer the same level of protection during a second vehicle crash. Older car seats may not have the latest safety features, or meet the most recent safety standards, and may have degraded over time. Plus, car seats carry an expiration date, typically six years.

4. Children's Outerwear With Drawstrings
Before buying, check all children's outerwear to make sure the garments do not contain drawstrings. Although there have been federal guidelines and an industry standard for more than 10 years now forbidding their sale, clothing with hazardous drawstrings continues to be sold on the second-hand market. Drawstrings are a strangulation hazard because they can get caught on playground equipment and in other places, like bus doors.

5. Toys (including jewelry)
Toys and children's jewelry must meet certain federal safety standards, including acceptably low levels of lead in their paint and underlying materials. Yet you have no way of telling how much lead might be in a piece of children's jewelry or toy that could end up in a child's mouth. This month, new federal regulations reduce the lead limit in toy's underlying materials and other children's products from 300 to 100 parts per million. Surface coatings, such as paint, have been limited to 90 ppm since 2009. But again, you have no way of checking whether a used toy or piece of jewelry contains high levels of lead.

Today's Walmart haul

I was able to get all this for $8.64.....that's 2-23 oz boxes of frosted flakes, 1- 21.7 oz box of froot loops and 15 trial size packages of cascade. The manager advised the cashier to take off all the cascade coupons at once instead of doing several different transactions..(sweet) but was willing to pay separate.

Now here is where you really need to watch prices and the size of packaging. The 21.7 oz box of cereal was $3.50; the box is just wider than the 23 oz box which was only $3.12. Then I used a .70¢ coupon on each box. Making frosted flakes 46 oz's for $5.84 and the 21.7 oz box of fruit loops $2.80.

Also check some of your rural areas; some of their papers are only .50¢ in mid week and contain the inserts for the following week; which gives you a jump on sales and coupons for the upcoming Sunday.

Winn-Dixie has the Ritz Crackerfuls BOGO and while there I found these great coupons to save $1.50 off 1 box; which made them 2 boxes for .59¢.....I was doing the happy dance. Be on the lookout for all sorts of coupons while you are out shopping you never know what you might come across.
